Located in the proximity of the urban town of the Municipality of Nogarole Rocca (20 km south-east of Verona), the 14th century Castle-Residence of the Nogarole family, (but built on early medieval structures) was turned into a farm residence by the Bevilacqua-Lazise family during the 16th century representing one of the most significant historical and architectural emergencies of the entire Verona territory.
The fortified complex, built on a plateau prominent compared to the surrounding countryside and today, still surrounded by a large wall (at the time with a moat with the waters deriving from the Thyone), dominates the entire surroundings, becoming a reference point in the stretch of the plain. To enter the Castle and its inner court, today it is still necessary to climb from one of three ramps with its bridges: the one with three arches on the South-East side (for those coming from the city centre of Nogarole Rocca), a second found on the North-East side and a third on the North-West side for those coming from the hamlet of Grezzano.
